A practice piece for a further study of a fellow student. She has lovely rich red hair which really appealed to me. This was done on watercolour paper with the underpainting done in acrylic then  oil applied on top.

High time I added something else to my blog!  College work keeping me busy, but here is a head I sculpted. I loved doing it, but now that the sculpture dept has closed there are no more opportunities to take it up again.

This painting was inspired by reading Sara Gruen's book "Water for Elephants".  There is an elephant hidden in the stakes which confine it, and the knots in the wood have turned into eyes filled with resignation at the life it leads.

As part of my college course I have to create a blogpost saying what it is about my home town that inspires my creativity.

I think it is being near the river.  Living near a river frees the spirit, lets it expand and become creative. The air is fresh and clean and different.

My next piece of work is Elsie, a very old lady with failing eyesight, who bravely struggles to read.

This oil painting of of Marina, a Greek model.

A pastel drawing which was started at the eyes and worked outwards.
